To All Group 16 Senior Rugby League Clubs
As your are aware and subject to this Tuesday Nights Group 16 Minor Rugby League Meeting the Group 16 Senior Rugby League are endeavouring to play and sustain an Under 18 Competition for 2020 on Saturday afternoons incorporated in the Minor League Competition and after the Under 16’s games.
The importance and need to continue to provide Rugby League for our younger players cannot be stressed and emphasised enough, they are the lifeline for all Group 16 Senior Clubs to survive in the future.
With no Senior Rugby League Competition this year (2020)) we now ask every Group 16 Club to place there energy. commitment and time into establishing and forming an Under 18 Team to compete in the proposed Saturday afternoon competition.
We respectively ask that all Clubs use every possible avenue of recruiting and advertising such as Club Social Media. Facebook, Club Website, the good old tried and tested formula of knocking on doors, the bring your friends along and High School News outlets so as to ensure we reach out to any possible potential players.
While we fully understand the 16 to 18 yr age group is a most difficult one, we again emphasis these players are your club and Group 16’s lifeline to sustain a competition in future years. Without these younger players coming through your Club it will be difficult to survive.
Both Clubs and the Group 16 Management will to work together to ensure our future. Should you require any assistance through our local News Papers and Radio Stations in recruiting and advertising please don’t hesitate to contact me and I will give any assistance I can. It may be possible that we can merge Clubs that may have a number of Under 18 players but not the full squad which will ensure they can play Rugby League.
Further information in regards to the proposed Competition will be circulated after this Tuesdays Nights Group 16 Minor League Meeting.
